Social Responsibility and Corporate Growth Parallel: Pengchin Industry Actively Participate in Community Development Projects
Pengchin Industry (HK) Co., Ltd. (Pengcheng Industrial (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.) has continuously deepened its ESG strategic practice in recent years, deeply integrating corporate social responsibility (CSR) into its core business development path. In the third quarter of 2024, the company officially announced the launch of the Pengcheng Community Benefit Plan, with an initial investment of more than HK $3 million. In conjunction with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Eastern District Office and a number of local vocational training institutions, the company will launch a series of community empowerment actions in Chai Wan, Kwun Tong and Kwai Chung industrial areas.
, the plan focuses on three major directions: first, the "Technical Youth Support Plan", which provides free CNC basic operation, precision assembly and quality inspection training courses for 150 middle school students from grass-roots families and fresh vocational school graduates, as well as supporting internship and employment confirmation channels; The second is the "Green Workshop Upgrade Action", which provides free guidance on the renovation of energy-saving lighting systems and the introduction of ISO 14001 environmental management systems to 22 small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the region; the third is the "Elderly Friendly Workshop Co-construction Project", which sets up integrated jobs in the company's intelligent storage center in Tseung Kwan O. Priority is given to retired technicians over 60 years old with experience, equipped with aging work stations and flexible scheduling mechanism. Currently, 17 senior practitioners have been recruited to return to their jobs.
According to the company's latest "2024 Sustainable Development Report", since the CSR work was systematically promoted in 2022, the total service time of Pengchin Industry employee volunteers has exceeded 8,600 hours, and the community cooperation project covers 11 administrative districts in Hong Kong, directly benefiting more than 4,200 people. Mr. Chen Zhiming, CEO of the company, said: "the long-term competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises not only comes from technology and efficiency, but also is rooted in the trust and symbiosis of the communities in which they are located. We don't do 'donate' public welfare, but build 'capacity build' partnerships-where skills can be passed on, resources can be recycled, and opportunities can be continued. '
noteworthy that social responsibility practices have fed back the growth of enterprises: in the first half of 2024, Pengchin Industry was awarded the "ESG Excellence Award" by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the renewal rate of customers increased by 9.3 percent year-on-year, and the three newly expanded Southeast Asian manufacturing customers explicitly included the ESG evaluation of suppliers into the access criteria. The company also launched the CSR digital tracking platform to publicize project progress, capital flow and effectiveness data in real time to enhance transparency and credibility.
In the next three years, Pengchin Industry plans to increase CSR investment to 5% of annual net profit, and take the lead in establishing the "CSR Alliance for Advanced Manufacturing in the Greater Bay Area" to promote the co-construction of industry-level responsibility standards. From precision parts to humanistic temperature, Pengcheng Industry is interpreting it with solid actions-the real industrial progress is to let every screw carry dignity and every gear rotation respond to social expectations.
